Crossroads of the Rocca, this commune of little more than 110 souls was built high up, protected by defensive medieval towers. Walking in the streets, one is surprised by the magnificence of certain houses, with splendid doors and interesting ornamental work and by
the considerable size of the towers, which have been transformed into houses.
With about 130 inhabitants, this commune to the south of Propriano has nearly 15 km of wild coast. The beauty of its creeks has ravished more than a few visitors... from the 20th century back to about 9,000 years ago, people who settled on the wide plateau Capu di Logu (442 m). A large bronze age complex has been found on this plateau.
With just 40 inhabitants, this commune occupies
a territory which includes a hilly area overlooking
the little Bisujè Valley. The Castello d’Alo-Bisujè is on the top of a rocky outcrop at an altitude of 361m overlooking the Sartène road, the Bocca di Biscelli. In the castello, fragments of menhirs (standing stones), millstones and pottery have been found, dating from the 2nd millennium B.C.
